I'm trying my best to ignore the news but it creeps in no matter what. Just got word that children who are participating in a pageant, being recorded in their own family bubble, one at a time, needs to prove a negative covid-test since they're "volunteers". Honestly, where is the common sense? When does a child participating in a church program transition over to being a volunteer? So when you're receiving training, you don't need to prove you don't have covid but the minute you want to use your skills and talents to help the church you need to prove you're negative? So if you stand up from your pew and turn around and speak, you now need to prove you don't have covid. Got it. Way to encourage the youth to participate in church.

Everything I want to say but can't say it
An email was leaked yesterday from the Chief Medical Officer of Health that he wrote in August saying "recent data from the Delta variant shows that when breakthrough cases occur, fully vaccinated individuals have similar levels of infectiousness as in unvaccinated cases" This was something I understood around the same time and therefore, made passport mandates all the more arbitrary and intentionally divisive and tribal. I had shared this fact 2 times with 2 people. Immediately afterwards, I received an email from the wife of one of these people telling me her husband and herself felt I didn't understand covid and the vaccines and she'd be willing to educate me. I was upset about this. When I shared how upset I was with person number 2 and why, they said the wife had good reason to want to educate me. That relationship is now severely fractured.
Why is there no discussions from both sides anymore? They're so willing to maintain passports when the science says, covid will spread no matter what. Now we talk about boosters, but studies show that after 8 months, Pfizer's efficacy reduces to 40%. The FDA had a base line of 50% efficacy in order to have approval for a vaccine. Now the CDC has redefined "vaccine". It was "a product that stimulates a person's immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease" and now its "a preparation that is used to stimulate the body's immune response against diseases". It was said the definition was changed in order to combat "anti-vaxxer" rhetoric.
There was a Swedish study with over a million people in their sample that monitored vaccine efficacy over the past 10 months. The more shots and boosters, the less likely natural immunity was able to function. What is the long term plan for the vaccines? Are we do get boosters for the rest of our lives? Will we continue to have our freedom of mobility and freedom to work taken away if we don't get bi-annual shots?
So many of our policies and procedures were created based on polls, not science. A peer reviewed study out of Japan indicated school closures served no purpose other than to inflict mass mental health challenges on children. Children have a low risk of dying of covid. Most people who have died from covid have had co-morbidities and are over 80 years old. That is the population we need to protect.
Vaccinating 5-11 year olds is irresponsible. They are healthy and have an extremely low risk of severe affects of covid. The sample size for testing the vaccine was 2200 kids, 1500 of which received the actual vaccine. Mytocarditis affects 1/5000 children so how can that study report that there were no severe side affects to the vaccine? Why aren't parents asking what the long term side affects are from an mRNA vaccine in small children? There is not enough data.
Why aren't we using drugs to treat covid? Why is it always just the vaccine? Remember India last year? They were soaring in numbers and people were donating money and vaccines to help out the country. Why was it never reported that they distributed ivermectin on mass and was able to reduce covid symptoms? Why are we not promoting treatment that millions around the world are using. Studies have clearly indicated that a healthy life style, Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Quercetin are scientifically proven to help?
I feel isolated and alone because I cannot have this discussion with anyone because I either get told I need to get re-educated or I get asked to use scripture to defend my position, or I get painted with an anti-vaxx brush.
I wish I could not care as much, truly I do because then I wouldn't have anxiety attacks that make me want to throw up in panic. I wish I could turn off my drive for justice but I can't find the switch.
I am terrified of the world to come and I'm scared for my kids growing up in a world that is swiftly becoming totalitarian. The mobs are vicious. Free thought is a luxury. Open dialogue against the main discourse is frowned upon. Shut up and Carry on.

I'm not a climate expert by any means but if only some countries reduce emissions, and others don't, isn't that like having a peeing section in a pool?
Its the epitome of ironic to ban The Handmaid's Tale.
Raise the damn flag.
The Pfizer sample group for vaxing 5-12 year olds had 2300 kids, 1500 receiving the vaccine. How can they say no adverse side affects when statistically 1/5000 get myocarditis?
I don't know who needs to hear this, but we are not on the brink of extinction.
Canadian do not greet by touching foreheads or noses, unless you're in caucus.
Asking someone to do something is not volunteering. Then asking them to show vax status do it, but not ask them to attend Sexual Misconduct Policy Training or get a Vulnerable Sector Police Check shows what we value.
I think the most damning statement we can tell our children is that they're perfect just the way they are. That's false. We need to work daily at becoming better people and work toward a greater good that helps our world.
